Overview

Our longest set safari from the coast: three parks in four days, all by road. You start in Tsavo West, among hills and lava landscapes, then cross to Amboseli, where elephants walk the plains below Mount Kilimanjaro. On the way back you pass Lake Chala and finish in Tsavo East's red plains before returning to your hotel on day four.

  • Three national parks: Tsavo West, Amboseli and Tsavo East
  • Elephants with Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) as the backdrop, weather permitting
  • A stop at Lake Chala, a crater lake on the Kenya–Tanzania border
  • Three nights on full board

Malaria

Tsavo is a malaria area, with the highest risk around March–May and November–December. Ask your doctor or a travel clinic for advice.

Kilimanjaro views

The mountain is clearest early in the morning and late in the afternoon; by midday it is often hidden by cloud.
