Overview

Swap the savannah for the sea. Day one is a full day on the water on a traditional dhow: snorkelling or diving off the south coast, a visit to the Shimoni Slave Caves and a champagne sunset, before dinner and a night at Wasini Lookout on an all-inclusive basis. On day two you sail or drive to the Ramisi River, depending on the tides, and explore the mangroves by dinghy, looking for crocodiles and birds, before a seafood lunch and a visit to Funzi Island.

Frequently asked questions

Will we see dolphins?

Often, but never guaranteed. Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins live around Kisite year-round.

What is the Shimoni Slave Caves visit like?

A short, guided walk through natural coral caves that local guides say were used to hold enslaved people before shipment. It's run by the local community and is a sobering, important stop.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, a dry bag for your phone and a light layer for the evening.
